To Our Business Colleagues:
For some time now OptinRealBig.com has focused its energy on setting the industry standard and developing best practices for truthful advertising. Both the FTC and other regulatory agencies are taking a more active role in monitoring and evaluating online advertising to ensure compliance with consumer protection laws such as the CAN-SPAM ACT. This is a vital concern for all businesses involved with online advertising and we have taken a leadership role on this issue.
Last month we hosted a meeting for online advertisers, affiliate networks and other companies in the industry to encourage compliance with FTC guidelines. As the industry leader in compliance policy, we plan to host and attend future seminars.
In the spirit of our efforts we request that you review all ads and offers generated by our Advertisers and used by our Affiliates to have the following minimum standards:
- All ads shall be truthful.
- All ads shall adhere to the guidelines of full disclosure as set forth by the FTC.
- All ads shall be compliant with the CAN-SPAM Act.
Our Advertising department has been working diligently with you and your legal counsel to achieve complete FTC compliance for all of your offers. As we all know, the Internet is constantly evolving and the development of best practices will continue to be a work in progress. We welcome your input on how we can continue to improve and enhance our policies to best serve our Advertisers, Affiliates and the consumer.
We invite you to join us in leading the industry in compliance with consumer protection laws. The following links will provide you with more detailed information regarding FTC guidelines for online advertising.
